Apple is going to launch its smart glasses some time in 2027, with dedicated chips going into production really soon.

The Apple Smart Glasses Should be With us in 2027, Chips Going into Production Next Year

Meta Ray-Ban has really taken the market by storm and Apple wants a slice of the marketshare by launching its own smart glasses.

According to a new report by Bloomberg, Apple’s chips for its smart glasses, based on ones used in Apple Watch, will go into production by the end of next year or 2027.

If everything goes to plan, the Apple smart glasses will be with us in a couple of years, or in 2027 at least.

A recent report did say that Apple’s smart glasses will feature a camera and a microphone, meaning they’ll pretty much work like the Meta Ray-Ban glasses.

These smart glasses are going to be powered by AI for a lot of things. But it remains to be seen if these glasses will be able to take photos or record video, since there is a chance Apple might label it as a privacy risk.

I can only assume the camera will be used for Visual Intelligence. For example, if you’re looking at something and want to get more information, the glasses will just process the data and give you a quick overview of all there is available at what you’re looking at.

In essence, this is going to be like Visual Intelligence from iPhone, but completely hands-free and way more convenient.
