Developer beta 2 of the watchOS 27 update is now available to download on Apple Watch over the air.
watchOS 27 Developer Beta 2 Now Available for Download with More Refinements and Under-the-Hood Improvements
watchOS beta updates are for true risk-takers. Once you upgrade, you cannot downgrade back to watchOS 26 yourself. And, if you installed the watchOS 27 beta the moment it came out a couple of weeks ago, then you’re in for a ride that ends at the end of the year with the full and final version of the update.
With every new watchOS 27 update, the software experience will keep on improving. If there are instability issues, or battery life related problems, they will mostly go away in the next few betas. But if you want to go back to watchOS 26, that option is off the table.
Assuming you have been testing watchOS 27 beta on your Apple Watch, here’s what you have to do in order to download and install the second developer beta of the update:
- Place your Apple Watch on its charger.
- Make sure your Apple Watch and iPhone are connected to the same Wi-Fi network.
- Launch the Watch app on your iPhone.
- Navigate to General > Software Update.
- Tap on Download and Install when the latest developer beta of watchOS 27 shows up.
Apple says the second beta of watchOS 27 has the following build number: 24R5305g
If you still wish to take the watchOS 27 beta for a spin, then you will find all details posted here. And remember, Apple has dropped support for a lot of Apple Watch models this year, and there is a chance that your device may not be on the list.
Just like iOS 27, iPadOS 27, and macOS 27, the Apple Watch gets the Siri AI updates as well. You can ask it complicated questions, and even get access to the dedicated Siri app to stay on top of your conversations with AI. And yes, these conversations sync with your iPhone, iPad, and Mac, allowing you to pick up where you left off.
Assuming that there is anything noteworthy in the latest watchOS 27 beta update, I will highlight it in a dedicated post. For now, it’s best that you focus on updating all your devices that are currently running the version 27.0 beta update.
