Looks like Apple’s MacBook Air with OLED display is just a couple of years away, if the latest report is anything to go by.

Apple’s MacBook Air with M7 Chip and OLED Display Will Likely Arrive in Year 2028

According to Mark Gurman in his PowerOn newsletter, Apple is going to upgrade the MacBook Air with an OLED display in the year 2028. Previously, it was rumored that the upgrade got massively delayed all the way to 2029.

If Apple follows its usual upgrade cycle, then we can expect the OLED MacBook Air to ship with Apple’s M7 chip. And given the M5 upgrade is just around the corner, we still have quite a journey to cover before the OLED upgrade arrives.

It remains to be seen if the transition to OLED will also introduce meaningful upgrades to the MacBook Air. We can only know for sure once the transition to OLED happens on devices like the MacBook Pro, iPad Air, and even the iPad mini.

Apart from high contrast and HDR, features like ProMotion and extremely high brightness levels can really make the MacBook Air an even better purchase for those who don’t want to spend extra money on something like a MacBook Pro.
