Apple released macOS 26.4 RC last week, and it was only a matter of time Apple released the final version for everyone. Today is that big day, and I suggest updating your Mac immediately in order to enjoy the new features and changes.
In terms of features, there are a bunch of new things that are worth checking out. For example, if you’re an Apple Music subscriber, Apple has released a new Playlist Playground feature that utilizes text prompts to create a playlist exactly how you want it.

Download macOS 26.4 Tahoe Over the Air
The new 26.4 update for the Mac is available over the air. In order to download it, make sure you’ve saved all your work and files, have 50% or more battery life remaining, and are connected to the internet using Wi-Fi or Ethernet.
- Launch the System Settings app by clicking on the Apple logo in the menu bar.
- Now go to General > Software Update.
- Wait for the page to refresh and you’ll see macOS 26.4 Tahoe show up in a few seconds.
- Now click on the Update Now button to start the download.
Apple to Apple, the new software update has the following build number: 25E246
I will recommend installing the update immediately since it includes security updates as well. This ensures that everything on your Mac stays safe and secure no matter how you use it.
