Apple Releases First Beta of iOS 26.5 and iPadOS 26.5 for Developers, Download it Today
With iOS 26.4 and iPadOS 26.4 available for everyone, it was only a matter of time before Apple would release the beta of its next software update. The time has come, and iOS 26.5 and iPadOS 26.5 beta 1 updates are now available for download, but for developers only.
You can expect the first public beta of the updates to become available for download soon, too.
If you’re a registered developer with Apple, and set up to receive beta updates (Settings > General > Software Update > Beta Updates) then you can download the new 26.5 update immediately.
Head over to Settings > General > Software Update now and tap on the Update Now button. The download will begin immediately and will install on your iPhone and iPad soon after.
According to Apple, the new iOS 26.5 and iPadOS 26.5 beta 1 updates have the following build number: 23F5043g
Since it’s very early, therefore it’s hard to say what new features and changes the software update brings to iPhone and iPad. Whatever they might be, I will highlight the prominent ones in a separate blog post.
Last but not least, I will recommend testing out the new 26.5 beta on a spare iPhone or iPad. Early betas are very rough around the edges and may cause issues like crashing and severe battery drain.
