The Apple iPhone 18 Pro Max battery capacity figures have been leaked and shared online for both physical SIM and eSIM models.
Apple’s Upcoming iPhone 18 Pro Max will Ship with up to 5,200mAh Battery Capacity
Believe it or not, if you buy an iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Pro, or the iPhone 17 Pro Max that is eSIM-only, you get more battery capacity compared to physical SIM models.
Apple is going to do the same thing again this year, at least with the iPhone 18 Pro Max, but this time, we’re getting the biggest battery ever on an iPhone, according to leaked information shared by Digital Chat Station on Weibo.
Citing supply chain sources, the eSIM-only iPhone 18 Pro Max will have a 5,200mAh battery, and the physical SIM model will have a 5,000mAh battery inside.
If you need a reference point in digesting those numbers, the eSIM-only iPhone 17 Pro Max ships with a 5,088mAh battery, while the physical SIM model ships with a 4,823mAh battery.
While that extra battery is definitely welcome, it’s up to Apple how it ends up utilizing it. Extra battery means the company can push more resource-intensive features while offering the same battery life as last year.
Given the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max are expected to debut with faster and more efficient 2nm A20 Pro chips later this year, there is a chance we might get several extra hours of usage out of it as well.
Overall, extra battery is always a welcome upgrade, and I’m certain this small upgrade will spill over to the smaller iPhone 18 Pro as well.
