A new report sheds light on the A18 Pro-powered MacBook, and it is said to be launching in the spring of 2026. Not too far away from now.
Apple’s A18 Pro-Powered MacBook with 12.9-inch Display Expected to be Released Around March and April this Year
Recent chatter said that an iPhone chip-powered MacBook will be released by the end of 2025. Clearly, that didn’t happen.
But TrendForce believes we shouldn’t give up on this MacBook at all, and went on to say that the notebook is launching in the spring of 2026 instead.
The interesting thing about today’s report is how it says that Apple’s notebook will have a 12.9-inch display, which makes it as big as the larger iPad Air or iPad Pro.
This means the notebook is designed to be extremely portable compared to something like a MacBook Air with a 13.6-inch display.
I really wish this notebook has the aspect ratio of iPad as well, because that will instantly make the MacBook an amazing computer to work on.
The report doesn’t talk about exact pricing, but said it will be competitively priced. Not sure what that means given that the M4 MacBook Air is mostly available at a discounted price of $799 regularly, even at the time of writing this.
I’m only going to take a hard guess and say that Apple is planning to price this around $699, probably.
As time goes on, I don’t see the point of this notebook at all. Apple can keep on selling an older MacBook Air model, like the one with M3 or even M2, at a lower price, and it will deliver miles better performance compared to a notebook with an iPhone chip.
