The iPhone Air Spoils You Completely in Terms of Thickness, But the Charm Goes Away Until You Hold Another Smartphone
I got my iPhone Air back in October, and it’s the only smartphone that lives in my hand and pocket, nothing else. And, the first day charm of its ultra-thin design has completely worn off, and it suddenly feels normal, almost like the thinness never happened.
For everyone else holding the iPhone Air for the first time, the reaction is always the same. And at this point, the thin design feels so normal that everyone else’s reaction feels exaggerated, even though you were on the same boat just a while ago.
However, you immediately join others and their reaction the moment you hold another smartphone that’s not an iPhone Air. At that moment, you immediately realize how crazy thin the iPhone Air is, and yet it feels normal at the same time.
This is one of the reasons why I can’t switch to something else, even though someone tried to convince me to get an iPhone 17 Pro. The moment I held the 17 Pro in my hand, I couldn’t get past the thick design at all.
This reminder is the real lock-in from Apple, and the one that actually matters.
