Expecting the final version of iOS 26.2? Not so fast, because Apple has just released iOS 26.2 RC 2 for iPhone with build number 23C54.
Apple Releases iOS 26.2 RC 2 with Build Number 23C54 – Available to Download Right Now
The first RC, released a week ago, has a build number of 23C52. The new one, available to download right now, is most likely a bug-fix release only, and is recommended for everyone running RC 1.
It’s not surprising that Apple chose to release a new RC build today instead of the full and final version of the software. After all, the holidays are almost here, and Apple would want to release a polished version of its software before closing shop for a few days.
If you are currently running the RC build on your iPhone, all you have to do is go to Settings > General > Software Update, and download the update from here. Tap on Update Now in order to begin downloading the new iOS 26.2 RC 2 build.
Anyone can go ahead and download the new RC 2 build. All you have to do is sign up to the public beta, a process which I’ve outlined here.
