You can now set an alarm for a reminder on your iPhone, iPad, and Mac. Here’s how to set it up and use it.

Never Miss a Reminder on iPhone, iPad, or Mac Ever Again by Setting it as an Alarm

With the release of iOS 26.2, iPadOS 26.2, and macOS 26.2 Tahoe, Apple made a small change to the Reminders app. That change allows you to set an alarm for a reminder and have it go off at the date and time of your choice.

If you had moments where you missed a reminder completely, this new feature makes sure that you never do.

While the feature does work on the Mac, but the alarm will go off on your iPhone that is signed into the same Apple Account. So basically, this is primarily an iPhone and iPad feature with the ability to set up an alarm using your Mac, if that makes any sense.

How to Set it Up

First of all, you need to launch the Reminders app and create a new reminder by tapping on the + button at the top. Once that is done, tap on the (i) button next to your reminder.

You’ll immediately see a splash screen like the one below. Just tap on Continue. Once that is dismissed, tap on Urgent.

The moment you turn on the Urgent toggle switch, you have enabled the reminder to go off as an alarm. Just set the date and time, and you’ll be good to go.

While this feature does work as advertised, there is a small problem with it, which is likely a non-issue for most users. And that problem is: when you set up a reminder as an alarm, it does not show up in the Clock app under the Alarms section.

I’m sure Apple will fix this ‘issue’ in a future update for iOS and iPadOS. But for now, we have dipped our toes into a feature that should have been there since day one, and I’m extremely thankful for it.
