Apple has released firmware update 8B30 for AirPods Pro 3, and firmware update 8B28 for AirPods Pro 2 a while back.
New Firmware Updates 8B30 and 8B28 Released for AirPods Pro 3 and AirPods Pro 2
While this week has been fairly dry in terms of software updates, with the exception of iOS 26.2 RC 2, but for AirPods Pro 3 and AirPods Pro 2 users, there’s a new firmware update available for download.
If you have AirPods Pro 3, the new firmware update 8B30 is currently available over-the-air, while AirPods Pro 2 users should see the new 8B28 update.
If you go to Settings > AirPods and check the build number, you’ll be able to know whether or not you’re on the new firmware. If you see 8B25 on AirPods Pro 3, or 8B21 on AirPods Pro 2, it means you’re still on the older firmware.
Apple doesn’t say what this update brings to AirPods Pro. That’s why I’m going to assume that this is a bug fix update, nothing else.
In order to manually force the update onto your AirPods, check out the tutorial posted here.
