Good news, everyone. The official Shazam app by Apple has been updated with Liquid Glass design on iPhone and iPad.

Shazam by Apple Has been Updated for Liquid Glass, Nearly Two Months After Release of iOS 26

If you use Shazam a lot, and I bet you do, especially if you love discovering new music, then you should be pleased to learn that the app has been updated with full support for iOS 26 and Liquid Glass.

Upon launch, with the latest update installed, you’ll notice the new Liquid Glass buttons at the bottom of the display. It looks absolutely stunning, and it makes sense too, since the app is owned by Apple.

Now comes the rant.

iOS 26, iPadOS 26, macOS 26, and Liquid Glass have been around since September 15th, giving developers plenty of time to update their apps for it. Not only that, the first beta was made available in June of this year, which means months and months of preparation time for everyone.

But so far, big-name apps, and you know who you are, remain up to date for iOS 18 and iPadOS 18 instead. The simplest way to check if an app has been updated or not is by tapping on a text box and seeing if the iOS 26 or iOS 18 keyboard shows up.

But what is Apple’s excuse for rolling out Liquid Glass updates with this much delay? To this day, apps like Pages, Numbers, and Keynote remain unoptimized for Liquid Glass, almost like they’ve been abandoned.

I totally get the amount of hard work that goes into this stuff, but Apple causing this much delay only paints a bad picture of the state of its new design language for everyone else. If it is rolling out updates so slowly, it gives third parties no reason to speed things up either.

Enjoy that Shazam update.
