Apple has released iOS 26.2 and iPadOS 26.2 beta 3 a while back, and here’s everything new and noteworthy for iPhone and iPad.

iOS 26.2 Lets You Replace Siri in Japan and Other Changes in Developer Beta 3 for iPhone and iPad Users

It’s really cool how Apple manages to add a feature or two with pretty much every single iOS 26 and iPadOS 26 beta it releases. The third beta is no different, and it has a change so huge for iPhone users in Japan, everyone is definitely going to take notice of it.

Let’s start with that change and work our way forward.

Third-Party Voice Assistant Support in Japan

Apple has officially announced that it is bringing third-party voice assistant support for iPhone users in Japan, allowing you to replace Siri with any other voice assistant. All of this happens using the App Intents framework.

This is such a huge change as it has the potential to change iPhone’s trajectory in the near future for the better, of course.

It remains to be seen if this support will ultimately roll out to other countries or regions in the future.

Generate AirDrop Codes for Temporary Access

iOS 26.2 will let you generate shareable codes for users, allowing you to share files among them for the next 30 days. This is great for those who are not in your contacts list.

Tweaks to Slide Over in iPadOS 26

You can now have multiple Slide Over apps in the latest iPadOS 26.2 beta rather than being limited to just one app in iPadOS 26.1. Just drag and drop an open app to a Slide Over window to get started.
