Apple has released the first developer beta of macOS 26.2 Tahoe for the Mac. You can download it today over the air.

macOS 26.2 Tahoe Developer Beta 1 Now Available for Download on the Mac

Apple released a new set of software yesterday, including iOS 26.2 and iPadOS 26.2 beta. But the one thing missing from the bunch was macOS 26.2 Tahoe.

Today, Apple has released it for registered developers and anyone can go ahead and download it for free. All it takes is signing up to the Apple Developer Program, and then following a few steps.

Once signed up, all you have to do is launch the System Settings app, go to General > Software Update > Beta Updates. Select macOS Tahoe 26 Developer Beta from the drop-down menu and then click on Done.

In a few seconds, you’ll see the macOS 26.2 beta show right up. Click on Update Now and the download will begin immediately.

It is recommended that you install the update on a spare Mac, if you do have one around. Initial betas are usually a little wonky, and things like battery life issues are to be expected, especially when testing on a MacBook Air or MacBook Pro.

If you fully understand all of this, and you still want to test out the new macOS 26.2 beta, then go right ahead.
