The 2027 iPhone, otherwise known as the 20th anniversary iPhone, will have a completely invisible front-facing camera.

2027 iPhone will have a Completely Edge-to-Edge Display with Front-Facing Camera Hidden Away from View

Apple’s goal is to create an iPhone with no holes, notches, or Dynamic Island on the display. Starting next year, Apple is going to hide the Face ID sensor under the display while keeping the camera visible.

According to leaker Digital Chat Station, Apple’s dream of an all-screen iPhone will materialize with the 2027 iPhone model when it moves the camera sensor under the display as well.

This is definitely going to be a technical challenge because moving the camera under the display isn’t the best practice and results in poor image quality and a visible patch of pixels on the display where the camera is.

Another thing worth mentioning is how Apple plans to use a 24-megapixel camera under the display, something that is going to be an industry-first. No one has done a high resolution camera under the display, and it seems as though Apple has cracked the code for it.

A recent report said that Apple will move the camera under the display with the iPhone 18 Pro and folding iPhone. But today’s report says this will happen a year later.

Which report is right and which one’s wrong? We have plenty of time to figure that out as more information is leaked regarding future iPhones.
