Global AWS Outage Took Several Apple Services Offline, Services like ChatGPT Also Severely Affected
At the time of writing, Apple’s official System Status page shows everything is working fine. However, due to a worldwide AWS (Amazon Web Services) outage, users were experiencing disruptions across several Apple services.
Surprisingly, I didn’t notice any issue in the past few hours at all, even though a lot of people reported that Apple Music was inaccessible, alongside many other iCloud services.
This issue doesn’t just affect Apple services. A lot of other key services, such as ChatGPT, Alexa, Snapchat, and even the Epic Games Store, are affected. as well. So if you’re experiencing general slow internet issues today, AWS is to blame.
Some outlets are reporting that this is a DNS-related issue and that it should be resolved soon. Just make sure you’re not attempting anything at your end to fix this issue, because there’s nothing you can do to fix it, really.
