A new report says that there is ‘virtually’ no demand for iPhone Air at all, and Apple is cutting down its production by a huge margin.

iPhone Air is Apparently a Dud, Apple Cutting Down Production Because there’s ‘Virtually No Demand’ at All

The iPhone Air is Apple’s strangest iPhone this year. Either you love it or outright ignore it in favor of the iPhone 17 or iPhone 17 Pro.

According to a report by Nikkei Asia, the demand for iPhone Air is so bad that it’s basically non-existent. Due to that reason, Apple is shifting focus to the production of iPhones that are actually doing well – the iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Pro, and iPhone 17 Pro Max.

The report says that production of iPhone Air has been cut down so much that it’s usually this low when an iPhone is at the end of its production lifecycle. That does sound a little alarming.

The strange thing here is how the iPhone Air turned out to be a huge hit in a market like China, but everywhere else, it’s apparently a dud.

Another thing the report points out is how people aren’t interested in the iPhone Air and users don’t want to pay a premium for a folding iPhone either. If the latter is true, then Apple really has to market its folding iPhone in such a way that it makes a lot of sense.

I’m not going to defend the iPhone Air in any way possible. It is a very hard-to-digest device, because paying that much money doesn’t get you a lot of features. In fact, paying $799 for the standard model is a far better thing to do.

But for a person like me, the iPhone Air is an extremely refreshing upgrade that truly breaks away from the same-old design we’ve been seeing for years. Instead of getting a thicker iPhone this year, the iPhone Air goes in the opposite direction and stuns with its ultra-slim profile.

Clearly, not everyone agrees with that.
