It seems like Apple is working on an iPad version of the Pixelmator Pro app, a move that will make iPad an even better platform to create on.
After Acquiring Pixelmator a While Back, Apple is Likely Bringing the Pixelmator Pro App to iPad
As someone who is on a quest to give iPad a second chance as a laptop, the news that Pixelmator Pro might be coming to Apple’s tablet is the most exciting thing I’ve heard in a long time.
MacRumors was able to uncover App Store IDs for several apps that haven’t been released yet. Pixelmator Pro is one of them, and it is currently available for the Mac only.
In case you’re wondering, Apple acquired Pixelmator a while back and the acquisition was complete not too long ago either. And, it was only recently that Apple added support for Apple Intelligence to Pixelmator only to go silent all of a sudden.
It seems as though Apple is hard at work in the background to bring Pixelmator Pro to iPad, allowing a lot of individuals to start creating their best work right on iPad.
I exclusively use Pixelmator Pro on the Mac to create graphics and wallpapers for the blog. It’s the harsh truth that I have never found an app similar to Pixelmator Pro on iPad to this day that is not subscription based.
Though a very vanilla version of the Pixelmator app is available for download, and I do use it at times, it doesn’t have the features I need to get real work done.
My only concern is which pricing model the app will follow. Either it will be buy once and use forever, or users will end up paying a small fee every single month. I really wish it isn’t the latter, because it is the most frustrating thing when it comes to the App Store.
It’s unclear when the announcement will happen. But hopefully, it will happen this year, rather than the next one.
