Apple is reportedly bringing vapor chamber cooling to the M6 iPad Pro, allowing for better performance in intense situations.
M6 iPad Pro to Feature Vapor Chamber Cooling System for Improved Peak Performance
The one thing that makes the iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max stand out is the new vapor chamber cooling system. This allows both smartphones to stay cool and sustain their performance for longer.
Right now, the thing limiting the performance of the M5 chip in the latest iPad Pro is the thin and light form factor. The moment that chip kicks in for demanding tasks, temperatures rise, performance is throttled, and things start to look non-pro.
According to Mark Gurman from Bloomberg, Apple is set to bring vapor chamber cooling to the M6 iPad Pro. This will allow Apple’s super-thin tablet to hit its performance mark easily and even sustain it for a longer period of time.
While the M6 chip is reported to be based on the 2nm process from TSMC, Apple would want to squeeze out all the performance from it using all means necessary, and a vapor chamber cooling system allows that to happen immediately, as demonstrated by the iPhone 17 Pro.
Even though the M5 iPad Pro was released just now, the next iPad Pro is set to be released in the spring of 2027. That’s quite far away, which means you have plenty of time to decide whether you should get the M5 iPad Pro or wait for the next one and enjoy its vapor cooling system.
