Here’s how you can view your Instagram Reels watch history on your iPhone and iPad, allowing you to get back to your favorites instantly.

Instagram Reels Now Have Watch History on iPhone and iPad, Ensuring You Never Lose Your Favorite Video Again

Most of us watch Instagram Reels on a daily basis, maybe a little too much. While we do end up ‘liking’ a bunch of videos so we can get to them later, but once a Reel is lost because you scrolled too much, it’s gone for good. Refreshing isn’t going to help either, unless the algorithm wants to bring that meme back.

However, Instagram has rolled out watch history for Reels. This means you can go back in time and find the Reel you might have lost, on both your iPhone and iPad.

The way it works is pretty simple too. Just pick up your iPhone or iPad right now and I’ll walk you through the whole thing.

Step 1. Launch the Instagram app on your iPhone or iPad.

Step 2. Tap on your profile tab. It’s the bottom right icon on the iPhone, and bottom left in the row of icons on iPad.

Step 3. Tap on the ‘three lines’ button on the top right. It will take you straight to ‘Settings and activity.’

Step 4. Under the ‘how you use Instagram’ section, you’ll see ‘Your activity.’ Tap to open it up.

Step 5. Scroll down to the ‘How to use Instagram’ section and tap on ‘Watch history.’

You’ll see all your watched Reels here from the past 30 days. You can filter it by newest to older, oldest to newest, find by date, or find videos from a particular profile or author only.

Given the amount of Reels people watch on a daily basis, I’m not surprised that history doesn’t go farther than 30 days. And over time, I’m sure Instagram may even expand the feature beyond the 30 days limit.
