The Vision Pro gets a big upgrade today, thanks to the M5 chip. Not only that, there’s a new, comfortable Dual Knit Band available too.
Apple Keeps Price and Design of Vision Pro Same But Gives it Massive Boost in Performance, Thanks to M5
While keeping the design of the Vision Pro same as before, Apple was able to give it a massive leap forward in performance, thanks to the new M5 chip, which is also available in iPad Pro and MacBook Pro.
New M5 Chip Upgrade
The new M5 chip is based on the third-generation 3nm technology and features a 10-core CPU and a 10-core GPU. All those graphics cores are Neural Accelerators as well.
Apple says that the new M5 chip enables 120Hz rendering of the environment, which means reduced motion blur for a far cleaner experience of the world around you.
The latency between the camera and display has been reduced as well, and it takes only 12 milliseconds to give you the real-time view of the world. This is a big deal, ensuring everything looks and feels as true-to-life as possible.
Apple also says that Vision Pro is now able to render 10% more pixels on the built-in displays.
Improved Battery Performance
The high-performance battery now offers up to two and a half hours of use, and up to three hours of video playback, that too on a single charge.
If you love wearing your Vision Pro for extended periods of time, then this is the type of upgrade that sweetens the deal.
New Dual Knit Band
Apple is shipping the new Vision Pro with a brand new Dual Knit Band. One part goes behind your head, while the other goes at the top. This spreads out the weight of the Vision Pro for a more comfortable experience.
The new Dual Knit Band will be available in small, medium, and small sizes. Make sure you select the right one at the time of purchase.
