iPhone 17 users are currently experiencing issues with Apple Intelligence, and iOS 26.0.1 will likely fix it.
Apple is Aware of AI Issues on New iPhone 17 Devices, Fix Likely Coming in the Form of iOS 26.0.1
If you just bought an iPhone 17 or iPhone 17 Pro, only to realize that Apple Intelligence is not working on it, you’re not alone.
There are reports on different platforms suggesting that these new iPhone models refuse to download the complete set of files from Apple’s servers that are needed to make Apple Intelligence work.
If the files aren’t downloaded, then you don’t get access to things like Writing Tools, Image Playground, and Genmoji. That’s pretty much all of Apple Intelligence.
Users who are affected are saying that Apple is aware of this issue and is working on a software update to fix everything up. That update is likely going to be iOS 26.0.1 for iPhone, and it could be released soon.
At the time of writing, Apple is also testing out iOS 26.1 and iPadOS 26.1. You can download them if you’re a developer or a public beta tester.
There is a chance Apple might release the new software update next week. Whenever it does, I will keep a close eye on it and report back whenever it is out.
