Apple has released the macOS 26 Tahoe Release Candidate (RC) update for the Mac, and here’s how you can download it.
macOS 26 Tahoe RC is Now Available for Download and Install – Take it for a Spin Now and Experience Liquid Glass on the Mac
The potential full and final version of the macOS 26 Tahoe update has been released, but for developers and public beta testers only. But don’t worry, it will be released to everyone next week.
If you are a developer or a public beta tester, you can download the macOS 26 Tahoe RC update by simply going to System Settings > General > Software Update. Click on the Update Now button once the macOS 26 RC build shows up.
The fun part is, anyone can download macOS 26 Tahoe RC, and all it takes is signing up to the public beta, and ensuring your Mac is compatible with the latest update. You will find the complete list of compatible Mac computers by going to this link.
The new RC update has the following build number: 25A353
Once you’ve made sure your Mac is ready to run macOS Tahoe, all you have to do is sign up to the public beta, enable public beta updates on your Mac, and then download the update over the air. You’ll find all the details on it posted here.
Again, this is the potential final version of macOS 26 Tahoe. If no bugs or issues are found, Apple will release the same build to everyone next week; otherwise, it will issue a new build with the necessary fixes.
Is it safe to download and install this update? Absolutely, and it is very stable as well when you compare it to the last beta Apple seeded for macOS 26.
I’m going to download the final version of macOS 26 next week, and I’ll suggest that you do the same as well. After all, we’ve waited this long for the update to arrive. Why not just download it in the most vanilla fashion ever, right?
