First Public Beta of macOS 26.1 Tahoe is Now Available for Download on the Mac

Earlier this week, Apple released the first developer beta of macOS 26.1 Tahoe. Today, the company is releasing the first public beta of the update as well.

Usually, the first public beta arrives alongside the third developer beta of a software update.

Now that the public beta is here, anyone can go right ahead and download it too. All you have to do is sign up with your Apple Account on the beta.apple.com website.

When you are enrolled in the Beta Software Program, launch System Settings, click on General, then Software Update, and then open Beta Updates. From the drop-down menu, select macOS Tahoe 26 Public Beta and then click on Done.

The new public beta will show up in the Software Update section, and all you have to do now is click on Update Now in order to initiate the download and installation.

That’s about it. Your Mac will restart and you can start enjoying the new macOS 26.1 Tahoe public beta.
