Apple is no longer signing iOS 18.6.2 and iPadOS 18.6.2, which means downgrading from iOS 26 and iPadOS 26 is no longer possible.

You Can No Longer Downgrade from iOS 26 or iPadOS 26 to iOS 18 or iPadOS 18 on Your iPhone and iPad

Whenever a new software update is released, it’s only a matter of time before Apple stops signing the older software version, putting an end to downgrading completely.

If you are currently using iOS 26 or iPadOS 26, and were hoping to downgrade back to iOS 18 or iPadOS 18, you can no longer do that as Apple has stopped signing the older software today.

Once you upgrade to iOS 26 or iPadOS 26, you’re on it for good. But what about iOS 18.7 and iPadOS 18.7, you ask?

That’s a good question, and the answer for that is not what you’re looking for either. See, iOS 18.7 and iPadOS 18.7 updates exist for users who do not want to upgrade to iOS 26 or iPadOS 26 just yet.

If you’re already updated to the new software, the option to install version 18.7 is gone forever. But if you chose to install 18.7 instead, you can stick around as long as Apple is providing updates for it, which is going to be a long time.

I know the new software with Liquid Glass can be polarizing and takes a while to get used to, but once you do, you’ll see past the cosmetic changes and focus on the features it brings to the table as well. This includes the ability to change the background in Messages app and so much more.

Do keep one more thing in mind – the new update will only get better with time. So, give it a while before giving up on it completely.
