Of all the things Spotify could have added to its app on iPhone and iPad, it added messaging support, and it’s actually quite good.
Spotify Adds Messaging Support, Allowing You to Share Songs, Podcasts, and Audiobooks with Friends Directly
There was a time when every other app was adding support for ‘Stories.’ Thankfully, Spotify didn’t take that route, though some rumors suggested that it would.
With support for messages, users can share a song, podcast, or audiobook with their friends from the Now Playing screen in the app.

Just tap the share button in the Now Playing screen, select your friend from the list, and send away that content. And yes, you can send text and emojis as well, just like a regular messaging service.
The feature is rolling out and may take a while before it becomes available to you.
The only reason I see this feature useful is that it keeps your shared Spotify stuff in one place. Songs can easily get lost in a long string of iMessage texts, so this might ultimately solve that problem.
