The iPhone 17 lineup will be slightly more expensive than the iPhone 16, which means it could get a storage bump too.
iPhone 17 Lineup Will Likely be $50 More Expensive than iPhone 16, Entire Lineup May Ship with 256GB of Base Storage
Instant Digital took to their Weibo account and said that Apple is going to announce the iPhone 17 lineup on the 9th of September, a news we came across just yesterday.
Apart from that, the leaker said that the iPhone 17 lineup is getting a slight bump in price compared to iPhone 16 as well, with an increase of $50 likely across the board.
Again, something which we’ve heard before as well.
But, what’s new here is that Apple may justify the increase in cost by delivering the iPhone 17 with a minimum storage of 256GB.
It’s just a speculation, and there is a chance Apple might stick with 128GB memory for the iPhone 17 and may bump up storage for the iPhone 17 Pro only.
The increase in price is rather interesting, and it remains unclear whether this increase is due to tariffs or just rising prices of components.
The bump up to 256GB of base storage will really make the iPhone 17 great value for money as well, because currently, if you want to get an iPhone with twice the storage, you have to pay $99.
So, it’s safe to say that the iPhone is actually getting cheaper this year. I know that sounds outrageous, but you can do the math yourself too.
