New details regarding the folding iPhone have emerged, and it is shaping up to be quite an interesting little device.
Apple’s First Folding iPhone Won’t Focus on Extremely High-End Hardware, Instead Playing it Safe
We already know quite a bit about the folding iPhone, and Bloomberg has jumped in with more details.
First of all, the device is said to have four cameras in total. Two rear-facing cameras, one on the outer display, and one on the inner display.
Interestingly, there won’t be any Face ID.
Apple is going to utilize Touch ID on the folding iPhone instead, something that has already been rumored before.
The Apple-designed C2 modem will also be a part of the folding iPhone, and it makes perfect sense why. Given how thin the folding iPhone is going to be, Apple will rely on high-efficiency hardware to get users through the day.
To keep the device as thin as possible, there won’t be a physical SIM card slot either. Instead, this iPhone will rely on eSIM, something which is widely adopted around the world.
It’s very interesting that Apple is playing it safe when it comes to technologies powering the folding iPhone. So far, we haven’t heard about anything groundbreaking, such as the lack of Face ID, and it makes perfect sense, especially if Apple wants to roll this device out without incident.
