Planning to downgrade your iPhone or iPad to iOS 18.6 or iPadOS 18.6? Apple is no longer signing the older firmware.

You Can No Longer Downgrade to iOS 18.6 or iPadOS 18.6 as Apple has Stopped Signing the Older Firmware

Apple released iOS 18.6.2 and iPadOS 18.6.2 just a while back. And a few days before that, iOS 18.6.1 with the new Blood Oxygen feature.

Interestingly, during all the releases, iOS 18.6 and iPadOS 18.6 updates were signed by Apple, which means you could downgrade your iPhone and iPad back to the older firmware if you wanted to.

However, Apple is no longer signing 18.6, which means the downgrade window has been officially closed.

But obviously, that’s not a problem, since there’s no jailbreak coming for the latest devices, and the 18.6.2 software updates bring important security fixes to iPhone and iPad devices around the globe.

It’s highly recommended that you go ahead and download the latest software update right now in order to keep things nice and secure.

In order to do that, just go to Settings > General > Software Update on your device, and then tap on Update Now when the latest update becomes available.
