Heads up, everyone. Apple has just stopped signing the iOS 18.6.1 and iPadOS 18.6.1 firmware updates for iPhone and iPad.
Apple Stops Signing iOS 18.6.1 and iPadOS 18.6.1, Downgrade from iOS 18.6.2 and iPadOS 18.6.2 No Longer Possible
If you were thinking about downgrading from iOS 18.6.2 and iPadOS 18.6.2 to iOS 18.6.1 and iPadOS 18.6.1, you can no longer do that, as Apple has stopped signing the older firmware for iPhone and iPad.
This is completely normal, and Apple does this soon after releasing a new firmware update to ensure that users stick to the latest firmware in order to keep their devices protected against security vulnerabilities.
iOS 18.6.2 and iPadOS 18.6.2 are important updates with security fixes. In order to download them on your iPhone and iPad right now, simply go to Settings > General > Software Update and then select Update Now.
We are close to the full and final release of iOS 26 and iPadOS 26. It will be very interesting if Apple releases another update to iOS 18 and iPadOS 18. If it does, it will likely exist for people who do not want to update their devices to iOS 26 and iPadOS 26 immediately.
