The new AirPods 4 and AirPods Pro 2 beta firmware update with build number 8A5343a is now available for download.

Apple Releases 8A5343a Beta Firmware for AirPods 4 and AirPods Pro 2

Whether you’re a developer or a public beta tester, this update is available to everyone over the air.

If you want to download and install the update on your AirPods right now, all you have to do is leave your AirPods connected to your iPhone, iPad, or Mac, and on charge.

In order to check whether or not the update has been installed, launch Settings on your device, open AirPods from the top, scroll down and see the Build Number. If it says 8A5343a then you’re on the latest version.

Does it say 8A5324b instead? Then you’re on the previous build. But don’t worry, the new update will be pushed to your AirPods soon.

The new AirPods firmware is available developers (iPhone, iPad and Mac) and public beta testers. Just make sure you have iOS 26 or macOS 26 installed in order to test out the beta firmware.

Once you install beta firmware on your AirPods, you cannot go back to the publicly available firmware.
