Apple’s upcoming iPhone 17 lineup, set for release later this year, could be slightly expensive compared to iPhone 16.

iPhone 17 Getting a $50 Price Increase Across the Board Due to Tariffs and Rising Cost of Components

It is generally accepted that the pricing of a new iPhone will remain unchanged, unless some factors come into play to influence them.

For example, the iPhone 15 Pro Max started at a base storage of 256GB, dropping the 128GB tier completely, hence Apple justified its price increase to $1,199.

In an investor note by Jefferies analyst Edison Lee, Apple is going to bump up the price of the entire lineup by $50 compared to iPhone 16.

Currently, the iPhone 16 lineup starts at $599 for the iPhone 16e, which means the base model iPhone 17e should start at $749 and so on.

The reason why Apple is going to do this are Chinese tariffs and rising cost of components used to manufacture the iPhone.

It will be interesting to see if Apple actually implements these price hikes or sticks with selling the iPhone at the same price as the iPhone 16.
