Cyberpunk 2077 is coming to the Mac today, and you do need a powerful Mac if you want to play the game at the highest settings.

Your M1 Mac will be Able to Run Cyberpunk 2077, But you Need the M3 Pro or Higher for the Best-Possible Visual Experience

It’s no secret that Cyberpunk 2077 is a very graphic-intensive game. And while you can run it on a Mac with the M1 chip, but not quite, according to the game developers.

Minimum

The minimum requirements to play Cyberpunk 2077 on the Mac includes the M1 chip, 16GB of RAM, and at least 159GB of free space. Those requirements will get you 30 frames per second.

If you have a base model 8GB M1 Mac, and 256GB of internal storage, that’s going to put you in a very tight spot.

Recommended

There is a ‘recommended’ specification for the game as well. This includes the M3 Pro chip, 18GB of RAM, and of course, 159GB of storage, if you want to target 60 frames per second.

High Fidelity

In order to play the game in ‘high fidelity,’ you need a Mac with the M2 Ultra or M3 Max chip, 36GB of RAM, and 159GB of storage, in order to target 60 frames per second.

Very High Fidelity

If you’re planning to play Cyberpunk 2077 at its absolute best, then you need the M3 Ultra or M4 Max chip, 36GB of RAM, and 159GB of internal storage. This too will target 60 frames per second.

Want to play the game with Ray Tracing enabled? That option is there as well, as long as you have a Mac with M3 Pro or M3 Max, with 18GB or 36GB of RAM, respectively.

Wrapping things up, your MacBook Air with M1 and 16GB of RAM will play the game just fine, if you don’t mind lower resolutions and dialed down graphics.
