Threads now lets you message people, allowing you to have one-to-one conversations which are both private, and secure.
Threads Introduces Messaging on the Platform with Limited Features
Messaging is definitely the most requested feature on Threads, and it is finally here. But there are a few things everyone should know about before they start messaging people.
First of all, messaging works between followers, mutual followers, and between people who are 18 or older. This means you can’t just randomly text people on Threads at all.

Secondly, more features are coming in the future, which include group messaging, inbox filters, and the ability to set who can message you or not.
If you don’t see the Messaging tab in the Threads app for iPhone or web just yet, it’s because the feature hasn’t rolled out yet for everyone. Even I don’t see it on my end at the time of writing.
If you are interested in other features that were announced for Threads, then head over to this link.
The next thing I want to see is a dedicated app for iPad, just like the one Meta released for WhatsApp a while back.
