Set for later this year, the new M5 iPad Pro will reportedly feature two front-facing cameras as well.
M5 iPad Pro Set for Release Later this Year with Two Front-Facing Cameras
With the release of the M4 iPad Pro, Apple moved the front-facing camera from the top bezel to the side one, ensuring users look centered during a video meeting, especially when the Magic Keyboard is connected.
With the M5 iPad Pro set for release later this year, Apple is going to make another change to the front-facing camera situation.
According to Bloomberg, Apple is going to add a new camera to the front, and this one will be at the top of iPad Pro’s display too. In short, the upcoming iPad Pro will have two front-facing cameras – one for portrait, one for landscape.
This is actually a huge change and a first, because Apple has never done a device with two cameras at the front.
The next iPad Pro is said to keep the design from the current M4 model, and one rumor even said Apple might increase the size of the display while making the bezels thinner. But this seems very unlikely.
Apple’s move to add an additional camera to iPad Pro is definitely an interesting one.
Though moving the camera to the longer bezel seemed like a great solution at the time, but did Apple actually forget about those who use iPad in portrait mode completely?
From what I can tell, Apple was likely testing the waters to see what solution fits well with iPad users before making another change to it, and adding another camera just makes more sense.
