New leaked information says Apple is going to ship its super-light and super-thin iPhone 17 Air with the A19 Pro chip.

iPhone 17 Air will have 12GB of RAM, A19 Pro Chip, But will Have a 5-Core GPU Instead of 6-Core Like the Pro Models

Previously, it was rumored that the iPhone 17 Air will keep things subtle when it comes to performance and will likely ship with the standard A19 chip.

However, if new leaked information from Fixed Focus Digital is anything to go by, Apple is going to give its thin iPhone a super-fast A19 Pro chip, the same ship that will live inside the Pro and Pro Max models.

But, there is one thing which will make this particular A19 Pro chip different from the rest. And that is the number of GPU cores it will have.

According to the leaked information shared, the iPhone 17 Air will have an A19 Pro chip with 5 GPU cores, while the one in the iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max will have 6 cores.

An interesting thing here is how the standard iPhone 17 model is said to feature the A19 chip, and not the A18 chip, unlike what was previously rumored. I really hope things stay this way until final launch of the iPhone 17.

Apart from the standard iPhone 17, which will ship with 8GB of RAM, every other model will feature 12GB of RAM, including the iPhone 17 Air.

When it comes to daily use, one less GPU core does not mean anything at all. In fact, no one will ever notice it until you start running benchmarks and want to feel the difference by force. For the average user, it’s nothing to worry about.

In case you don’t know, the iPhone 16e has a 4-core GPU instead of 5-core, even though it has the same A18 chip found in the standard iPhone 16 models. Did anyone ever notice slower graphics performance? Nope.
