Here are all the major changes in the new iOS 26 and iPadOS 26 beta 4 updates for the iPhone and iPad, released just a while ago.

Liquid Glass Makes a Big Comeback in iOS 26 and iPadOS 26 Developer Beta 4 – Here’s Everything New in the Update

Apple released iOS 26 and iPadOS 26 developer beta 4 just a while ago, and it comes with plenty of changes, but I’m going to focus on the major ones.

Ones that everyone cares about the most, starting with Liquid Glass.

Liquid Glass is Back

With iOS 26 and iPadOS 26 beta 3, Apple dialed down Liquid Glass so much, it almost felt like iOS 18 and iPadOS 18. With beta 4, things are back to how they were, glassier than ever.

I really hope what Apple did in beta 3 was just a bug and it wasn’t just testing the waters. Because if you go through social media right now, users actually appreciate the return of actual Liquid Glass in beta 4.

Summaries in Notifications for News App

Apple disabled the Apple Intelligence-powered notification summaries for news apps in iOS 18.3 and iPadOS 18.3. With the new beta 4 of iOS 26 and iPadOS 26, they’re back.

However, Apple says that the feature may change the meaning of the entire headline, so it’s a good idea to fact-check and verify what you’re reading.

In other words, Apple hasn’t quite figured out the issue and has enabled the feature anyway.

Camera App Splash Screen

The camera app on iOS 26 comes with a huge redesign. In beta 4, when you launch it for the first time, you will see a splash screen highlighting all the changes, such as swiping left or right on the UI to access additional modes.

New CarPlay Wallpapers

The fourth beta includes new CarPlay wallpapers as well. They’re basically like the iOS 26 wallpapers from iPhone, but meant to be seen on the car’s infotainment screen.

Everything Else

You can expect this update to be very stable since Apple has fixed a bunch of bugs and fixed performance-related issues. But, it’s not going to be entirely perfect. You will run into issues from time to time.

Apple will likely release the first public beta of iOS 26 and iPadOS 26 tomorrow. It’s going to be based on the update that was released today.
