iOS 26 and iPadOS 26 beta 3 feature a bunch of new changes on iPhone and iPad, and here’s everything that is new.
Apple Dials Back Liquid Glass with iOS 26 and iPadOS 26 Beta 3 – Here’s Everything New in the Latest Updates
We’re three betas in, folks. This means Apple is continuously refining iOS 26 and iPadOS 26 on a regular basis, ensuring things are perfect by the end of the year.
In today’s update, Apple has made some changes to Liquid Glass, and I am not a huge fan of it. Other than that, there are meaningful changes in iPadOS 26 as well.
Let’s dive right into it.
Less Liquid Glass, More Frosted Glass
Apple has dialed down the ‘intensity’ of Liquid Glass throughout the operating system on both iPhone and iPad. It feels more frosted in some areas, and remains unchanged in other places.
Again, I’m not a huge fan of this change, and hopeful that Apple will reverse or refine its decision when the final update arrives later this year.
Smoother Liquid Glass Transitions
Going from a light to a dark background and vice versa, is far more smoother compared to iOS 26 and iPadOS 26 beta 2.
Shake to Make Mouse Pointer Larger
If you shake your mouse on the Mac, you’ll notice how the mouse pointer gets big, giving you a glimpse of where it is on the display. The same feature is now available in iPadOS 26.
While some may argue that this is not a great addition to iPadOS, but once you hook up your iPad to a larger display, it will all start to make sense.
New Wallpapers
The default iOS 26 and iPadOS 26 wallpapers are now available in more color options.
Previously limited to just the ‘Sky’ option. Apple has added Shadow, Halo, and Dusk as well. It’s a great change, and one which will allow users to customize their Home and Lock screens better.
Bug Fixes and More
And of course, Apple has added under-the-hood refinements for iPhone and iPad. It’s not going to be perfect, in fact, far from it. But with time, the operating system should start to feel more stable going forward.
