Those testing out the visionOS 2.6 developer beta can now download the new RC update for Vision Pro over the air.

We are just a week away from the full and final release of visionOS 2.6 software update for the Vision Pro. But if you’ve been testing out the software as a developer, then you can download the RC version right now.
In order to do that, follow these steps:
- Launch the Settings app.
- Open General.
- Now open Software Update.
- Just press Update Now.
In fact, if you sign up to the developer beta of visionOS 2.6 right now, Software Update will let you download the RC version right away. But, just wait a little longer and download the final version next week instead.
Though visionOS 2.6 doesn’t bring anything new to the Vision Pro, it’s an important update for the smooth functionality of your headset. Make sure you download the update as soon as it becomes available next week.
The transition from visionOS 2 to visionOS 26 is a big one. Though the user-interface remains largely unchanged, Apple has made improvements in key areas of visionOS.
For example, Spatial Widgets can be placed anywhere in your spatial computing area. If there’s a clock or calendar you want to place in a particular room or space, VisionOS 26 lets you do that.
Whenever you wear your headset and visit the room where you placed your widgets, you’ll find them exactly in that location every single time you wear your headset.
Personas are getting a massive upgrade as well. Though the ones in visionOS 2 are absolutely fine, but once you see the new ones, you’ll be left in awe how much life-like they are now.
These things really add to the overall user experience of Vision Pro, and I believe Apple is the only company that can make spatial computing mainstream. But only if it has a headset that can easily capture the masses, not the Vision Pro.
