You can now go right ahead and download the new tvOS 26 developer beta 4 update your Apple TV over the air.

Apple has Released tvOS 26 Developer Beta 4 Update for Apple TV with Bug Fixes and Other Improvements

Apple really didn’t have to bring Liquid Glass to Apple TV. But, since the company is big on design, therefore it was extremely important that it brought all the glassy elements to the living room screen too.

Needless to say, tvOS 26 has the nicest-looking UI of all the set-top boxes out there, and I really can’t wait for it to come out in its full and final form later this year.

Today though, tvOS 26 developer beta 4 is available for download. Those testing out the software, and currently running beta 3, can go right ahead and install the latest version over the air by following these steps:

  • Launch the Settings app on your Apple TV.
  • Scroll down and open System.
  • Now open Software Updates, then Update Software.

The new update has a build number of 23J5316g.

Once the update is installed, you can return to your important stuff such as streaming a movie or TV show on your Apple TV.

Just like other software from Apple, the tvOS 26 update will be available to download as a public beta update this week. All you have to do is sign up to the beta.apple.com website using your Apple Account and enable the tvOS 26 public beta from Settings.

Don’t worry, I have a complete tutorial prepared for the day when the update arrives for everyone.

The developer beta is also free to download and try. If you’re up for that, you can check out the entire tutorial posted here. It’s absolutely free, and Apple doesn’t charge a dime to download and test out its upcoming software.

Do keep in mind beta software can be extremely risky to test out. There are many things that can go wrong, and you will be forced to downgrade if your favorite app refuses to work on tvOS 26 entirely.

However, the luxury of downgrading is limited to Apple TV devices that have a USB-C port at the back. If you have one of the latest versions, you’re stuck on the beta until the final version comes out later this year.
