You can now download the new iOS 18.6 and iPadOS 18.6 developer beta 3 for iPhone and iPad right away.
Apple Releases iOS 18.6 and iPadOS 18.6 Beta 3 with Bug Fixes for iPhone and iPad Devices
Alongside iOS 26 and iPadOS 26, Apple is also testing out iOS 18.6 and iPadOS 18.6. The latter is available for developers and public beta testers.
If you are running iOS 18.6 or iPadOS 18.6 beta 2 on your iPhone and iPad, then you can go right ahead and download beta 3.
In order to do that, you have to follow these steps:
- Connect to Wi-Fi.
- Launch the Settings app.
- Go to General > Software Update.
- Tap on Update Now when iOS 18.6 or iPadOS 18.6 beta 3 shows up.
The update will take a few minutes to download and install onto your device, so be patient during that time. I will recommend putting your iPhone or iPad on charge during the entire installation process.
The same update is available for public beta testers as well. Since public betas have a simpler onboarding process, I will recommend taking that route if you want to test out Apple’s new software.
In terms of features, iOS 18.6 and iPadOS 18.6 bring nothing new to iPhone and iPad. Instead, they focus on fixing a lot of bugs, patching security-related issues, and improving the overall stability of your iPhone and iPad.
At this point in time, it’s hard to say when the final version of this update will be released. There is a chance Apple might release it next month.
