The word on the street is, Apple is going to launch its long-rumored folding iPhone as part of the iPhone 18 lineup in September 2026.

Folding iPhone to Launch with the iPhone 18 Lineup in September 2026, According to JPMorgan

Apple’s folding iPhone has been in the news way too much lately. The new form-factor device is said to launch sometime next year, but no one is sure exactly when.

In a note to investors by JPMorgan, Apple is going to launch its new folding iPhone alongside the iPhone 18 lineup in September 2026, next year.

Though folding smartphones have been around for quite some time, it is believed that Apple’s entry into the market is going to have a huge impact. What this means is, Apple may end up selling 45 million units of the folding iPhone by 2028.

Interestingly, there are plenty of details already available about the upcoming device. The device is said to be very, very thin, will have a 4:3 aspect ratio internal display, a hold-punch camera on the outer display, and more.

As someone who isn’t sold on the idea of a folding phone, I am slowly getting excited about the upcoming iPhone.

I have a feeling that Apple is not going to sell the iPadOS experience at the $1,999 price point, rather allow users to run iPhone apps side-by-side in the internal display.

Apple will definitely keep the entire experience unique and keep iPad as an entirely unique device which does not crawl into iPhone territory in any way.

That’s just my take on it, and we’ll know more about it as time goes on.
