A leaker has shared an image of an early prototype of an Apple silicon iMac. And the fun part: the Apple logo at the bottom.

Apple Prototyped an iMac with its Logo at the Front, But Went Against it

Of all the Macs Apple released, the iMac saw the best transition from Intel to Apple silicon. Not only did it get a huge performance bump, but also a slick new design which everyone loves to this day.

However, the Intel chip wasn’t the only thing that went away – Apple removed its logo from the front as well. This is something all iMac models have had until the Apple silicon one showed up.

Turns out, the Apple silicon iMac came this close to getting the Apple logo at the front, but Apple went against it and released the computer which we know and love today.

The image of a supposed Apple silicon iMac prototype with the Apple logo was shared by Kosutami on X, and I’ll just say it how it is, the iMac without the Apple logo looks far cleaner, and I’m glad Apple went with the current design choice.

See, the thing is, you just can’t keep on doing the same thing over and over again. I remember the backlash Apple received when it removed its glowing logo from the MacBook back in 2015.

Eventually, Apple removed the glowing logo completely, and the current implementation looks fantastic, and does not draw unwanted attention from people around you.

When it comes to the iMac, the cleaner branding looks way nicer, and Apple’s decision to simply keep the logo at the back, and remove it from the front, is wonderful as it gets.
