Apple may announce third-party Control Center widget support with watchOS 26 on Monday at WWDC 2025.

Third-Party Toggle and Widget Support is Coming to the watchOS 26 Control Center

The Control Center on Apple Watch would have been far more useful if it allowed users to customize it with third-party toggles and widgets.

Sure, you can add and remove stuff from it, but it only works for toggles which Apple itself has designed for it, nothing else. It’s the most stale implementation you can think of, although it works just fine.

9to5Mac is reporting that things are about to change in the Control Center department with watchOS 26.

According to the publication, Apple may allow third-party app developers to create toggles for Control Center. And you can fully customize it straight from the Watch app on iPhone.

The interesting thing in the report is how it says that this feature may not be announced on Monday, and instead be released later in the year as a software update to watchOS 26.

As long as Apple doesn’t end up scrapping this feature completely, I’m sold to it.

Reports also suggest that watchOS 26 will get the same redesign as iOS 26 and macOS 26.
