You Can Download and Install HomePod Software Update 26 Developer Beta Right Away
HomePod and HomePod mini are getting software upgrades too, and the first developer beta of it is available for download too.
Dubbed software update 26, you only have to sign up to the Apple Developer Program and the new update will be available for your HomePod and HomePod mini right away.
Sign up to the Apple Developer Program
In order to sign up for the Apple Developer Program, head over to this link and sign in using the Apple Account you’re using on your HomePod.
It barely takes a minute or two, and you’ll be enrolled as a developer, ready to test out beta software on any of your compatible devices, including HomePod.
Download Software Update 26 Beta on HomePod
Whether you have a HomePod or HomePod mini, you can download and install the new software update 26 beta on it by following these steps:
Step 1. Launch the Home app on your iPhone, iPad or Mac.
Step 2. On the Home tab, you’ll see ‘three dots’ on the top right corner. Tap or click on it.
Step 3. Now open up Home Settings.
Step 4. Scroll down a little and find Software Update. Open it up too.
Step 5. Now open up HomePod Beta Updates and select the new 26 developer beta and the HomePod you want to install it on.
Once the beta is installed, you will keep on receiving subsequent updates regularly. If you have automatic updates enabled, they will be installed in the background.
