Apple Releases iOS 18.6 and iPadOS 18.6 Developer Beta 1 for iPhone and iPad, Download and Install it Today
As expected, Apple has released the first beta of iOS 18.6 and iPadOS 18.6. This update was a long time coming, and if you’re a developer, you can download and install it right now.
In order to download it on your iPhone and iPad, you have to sign up to the Apple Developer Program first. It’s absolutely free, and you can get started by signing into your Apple Account here.
Once you do that, just go to Settings > General > Software Update > Beta Updates. Select iOS 18 Developer Beta, and you will immediately see the iOS 18.6 and iPadOS 18.6 updates.
Tap on Update Now underneath and the update will begin downloading immediately.
It’s unclear at the time of writing what iOS 18.6 and iPadOS 18.6 add to iPhone and iPad. Reports say the update will bring Apple Intelligence to China, and I hope that is the case. Users in the region have been waiting for features to roll out for a long time.
No matter what is included in the update, I will do a proper list of it later. I will highlight all the notable changes in one place, and update this article accordingly if Apple hasn’t added anything new for iPhone and iPad users.
You can expect this update to be available as a public beta later on. Just go to the Beta Updates section in Software Update and select iOS 18 Public Beta.
Though iOS 26 and iPadOS 26 will be getting all the attention these days, iOS 18 and iPadOS 18 are equally important, especially for those who are not testing out the beta or public beta at all. And that’s a lot of people out there.
