Apple has strictly said in its release notes that you should not download and install watchOS 26 beta on your Apple Watch Hermès.
Apple Watch Hermès Continuously Crashes on watchOS 26 Developer Beta 2 – Apple Advises Not to Install the Update
Earlier this week, Apple released the second developer beta of watchOS 26. While the update is available for all compatible Apple Watch models, Apple says you shouldn’t download it if you have an Hermès model of Apple Watch.
Apple says in its release notes that beta 2 of watchOS 26 will continuously crash the Apple Watch Hermès.
From Apple’s website:
Apple Watch Hermès crashes continuously if updated to watchOS 26 beta 2. It is advised that these users do not update to beta 2. (152604139)
Before you say ‘I knew it,’ I’ll save you from all the trouble and tell everyone that this is a beta, and these things are to be expected. watchOS 26 is nowhere near the final build at the time of writing.
watchOS 26 is unfinished software and is meant to be tested on spare devices before it is rolled out to everyone around the world. Initially, it will crash, burn through battery life, and randomly delete your files and settings until things start to turn normal.
Also, if you have any other Apple Watch model, the update will work just fine, just avoid installing it on your Hermès timepiece.
If you already have developer beta 1 installed on it, make sure you do not update to the second beta at all. If Apple releases a revised build or watchOS 26 developer beta 3, install that instead.
