A new report says Apple’s upcoming 20th anniversary iPhone might not feature the all-screen design everyone is talking about.
Apple’s All-Screen iPhone Likely Not Coming Before 2030, 20th Anniversary Model will Have a Smaller Dynamic Island Only
All eyes are set on the iPhone Apple is going to release in 2027. The reason for that is simple: because it is believed to be a special smartphone with an all-screen design.
What this means is, Apple is reportedly launching an iPhone with no visible camera or Face ID sensors. It will be an all-screen, all-glass design, exactly what everyone expects from an iPhone.
But not so fast.
A new report from Ross Young has emerged on X, in response to an article by MacRumors, and he says an all-screen iPhone is far away and will happen in 2030 most likely, not before that.
When 2027 is here and Apple announces the 20th anniversary iPhone, it will likely have a smaller Dynamic Island, and that trend will continue until 2028 because that’s when the Face ID sensors will be hidden under the display. But the camera cutout will still be there.
The 2030 iPhone will have no punch hole camera, no Dynamic Island – everything will be underneath the display.
While this news sounds like a huge disappointment, but do keep in mind that it’s just a report that can change down the line. As necessary technologies become available over time, Apple might just deliver us that all-screen iPhone.
2027 is pretty far away from now, and the iPhone 17 isn’t even here yet. So just relax and wait for more news to arrive, and then we’ll make our minds up about the all-screen iPhone situation.
