Here’s how you can enable the Motion Cues feature on your iPhone and iPad in order to avoid motion sickness in a car.

Reduce the Motion Sickness Effect While Using Your iPhone or iPad by Enabling the ‘Motion Cues’ Feature

For some people, using a smartphone or tablet in a car is not an easy task. Whenever the vehicle starts to move, they experience motion sickness while looking at the display.

Interestingly, Apple has figured out a way to minimize that sickness with a feature called Motion Cues on iPhone and iPad.

What it does is display a bunch of animated dots on the screen that mimic the movement of the vehicle you’re sitting in. This in turn minimizes the motion sickness effect.

If you are suffering from this too, then give it a shot on your iPhone or iPad today. Here’s how you can enable it.

Step 1. Launch the Settings app.

Step 2. Tap on Accessibility.

Step 3. Tap on Motion.

Step 4. Tap on Show Vehicle Motion Cues.

Step 5. You have three options to choose from: On, Automatic and Off.

Choose On if you want to keep the dots persistently on the display while Automatic will detect vehicle motion automatically and start showing the dots.

I suggest going with Automatic so that you don’t have to enable the feature over and over again manually every single time.

From now on, whenever you’re in a vehicle and start to move, the dots will keep your motion sickness at bay when you’re using your iPhone or iPad.

Interestingly, this feature is also coming to the Mac later this year with macOS 16. Those who find themselves working in a moving car, bus, train, etc., will definitely find this news fantastic.
