In an official announcement, Apple has revealed that its Self Service program now covers the iPad lineup of devices.
Apple Expands its Self Service Repair Program to the iPad Lineup, Includes Displays, Cameras, Batteries and More
The interesting thing about this expansion is how it covers all the latest iPad models. This includes the M2 iPad Air or newer, the M4 iPad Pro, iPad mini with A17 Pro, and the latest iPad with A16 Bionic.
If you want to repair these iPad devices yourself, Apple is going to rent you the necessary equipment, and you can buy parts such as the display, battery, camera, and the external charging part.
Since these are genuine parts, you can rest assured that they will work flawlessly with the above mentioned devices.
Do keep in mind that this program covers the above-mentioned iPad models only. If you have something older that needs a bit of repair, it’s not covered in this program, at least not yet.
Apple’s Self Service Repair already supports 65 devices, including the Mac and iPhone. And, to make things better, the program is set to expand to Canada this summer as well.
While this is definitely great news, do keep in mind that repairing Apple devices should be left to professionals only, unless you know exactly what you’re doing.
Though Apple provides proper manuals and tutorials on how to perform a repair, things can still go wrong. It’s always a great idea to take your device to a highly rated and authorized repair center to get your Apple device fixed.
